Invisalign® Invisable Braces
If you’d love to have the straight teeth that traditional braces provide, but don’t want to worry about wearing metal braces for years, you could be on your way to a straight smile in no time with Invisalign®.
Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of clear aligners created just for you. These removable aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into the desired position. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete.
With Invisalign®, you’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth. Contact us today to schedule your Invisalign® consultation. Learn more about Invisalign®.
Philips Zoom!® Teeth Whitening
Over-the-counter whitening strips and pastes can take weeks to brighten your smile, and even then the results often aren’t as dramatic as advertised. At Smile Envy Dental Studio, we offer a number of safe and effective professional whitening options by Philips Zoom!® to help you show off a beautiful, bright smile! Philips Zoom!® is the #1 patient-requested professional whitening treatment in the United States.
Philips Zoom!® In-Office Professional Teeth Whitening
Philips Zoom!® In-Office Professional Teeth Whitening is a revolutionary whitening solution which utilizes a combination of whitening gels and an ultraviolet lamp to whiten your teeth up to eight shades in approximately 45 minutes.
The procedure begins with a short preparation to cover the lips and gums, leaving the teeth exposed. The Philips Zoom!® whitening gel is then applied, which works together with the ultraviolet light to penetrate the teeth and break up the stains and discoloration. The gel remains in place for 15 minutes while the light is activated. During this time, you can enjoy our relaxing amenities including watching TV or listening to music.
The gel is applied for three 15-minute sessions of light activation, for a total treatment time of 45 minutes. Once complete, a sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste-gel is applied to the teeth.
Philips Zoom!® Take-Home Professional Teeth Whitening
Would you rather whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home? We also offer Philips Zoom!® Take-Home Professional Teeth Whitening kits. Each kit includes a set of custom-made whitening trays and a supply of professional-strength whitening gel. You’ll have noticeable whiter teeth in a few as two weeks! Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth-shaped porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile. Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and an ideal solution in treating many dental conditions.
As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and will someday need replacement. They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.
Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process, with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure. The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. Impression (molds) of the teeth are taken and a shade (color) will then be chosen by you and Dr. Carter.
On your second visit, the applicable teeth will be cleaned with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond. Learn more about Porcelain Veneers.
Composite (Tooth-Colored) Fillings
Traditionally, dental fillings were filled with substances such as amalgam that had a metallic look which was not very aesthetically pleasing. We utilize a composite resin (tooth-colored) material which can be closely matched to the color of your existing teeth. Composite fillings are very durable and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
Composite fillings are typically placed in one appointment. While the tooth is numb, Dr. Carter will remove decay as necessary. The space will then be thoroughly cleaned and carefully prepared before the new filling is placed. If the decay was near the nerve of the tooth, a special medication will be applied for added protection. The composite filling will then be precisely placed, shaped, and polished, restoring your tooth to its original shape, look and function.
It is normal to experience sensitivity to hot and cold when composite fillings are first placed, however this will subside shortly after your tooth acclimates to the new filling. Good oral hygiene practices, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new fillings. Learn more about Composite (Tooth-Colored) Fillings.
